This past week and weekend two of hip hop’s biggest acts faced the law. Both Lil Wayne and Kanye West faced the long arm of law steaming altercations in the past couple of years.

Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to gun possession chargers in a Manhattan on Thursday October 22nd. As part of this peal deal Wayne will be headed to prison for one year, but could only be locked up for about eight to ten months assuming he behaves well.

Kanye West was also in court, but not on gun chargers. In 2008 Kanye put the beat down on a paparazzi and his camera while attempting to leave the airport.

Falcon Heene Looks For His Balloon.

Last week something unusual enfolded on CNN. A large sliver balloon flew over Colorado. No one was sure what it was or who had released it as the craft floated in the breeze details emerged. It was apparently released by a boy who’s parents are amateur scientists. Rumors flew about where the boy was who released the balloon. His younger brother said he saw him climb in before take off.

It turned out the boy, Falcon Heene, wasn’t in the balloon and the whole thing was a stunt. This was allĀ  Orchestrated by his parents in order land a reality TV show. If you want more of the story you can read about it here.

Anyway, I though it would be interesting to ponder if the family didn’t get a TV show, but a movie, what hip hop tracks would show up on the soundtrack?

Kanye! Watch Out For Stomach Demons!

There is no getting around it, this bit of cinema is strange. Awhile back Spike Jonze director of Where the Wild Things Are, announced he would direct a short film starring Kanye West. The film was to be coupled with West’s “See You In My Nightmares” track off of his 808s and Heartbreak album. The film was supposed to be released via iTunes on September 8th of this year, but never did.
